About the location

Cilgerran Castle is a 13th-century ruined castle with the 'WOW' factor! Located in Cilgerran, Pembrokeshire, near Cardigan, it is owned by the NT and in the care of Cadw. The castle sits on a rocky promontory above the River Teifi affording fabulous views across the countryside. An earth and timber castle is believed to have been built around 1100, though the existing masonry dates from around 13th century.

Additional information

There is no dedicated parking for the castle. There is plenty of street parking in the village and in the school car park at weekends.

Free entry to members of NT, English Heritage, Historic Scotland and Cadw when presenting a valid membership card. Children under 5 admitted free.

Admission Prices correct as of 28 January 2013

* The Gift Aid Admission includes a 10% voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions enable the National Trust to reclaim tax on the whole amount paid* - an extra 25% - potentially a very significant boost to property funds. Gift Aid donations must be supported by a valid Gift Aid declaration and a Gift Aid declaration can only cover donations made by an individual for him/herself or for him/herself and members of his/her family.
