HOW YOU’VE HELPED...
By attending an Easter Egg Trail, you have helped the National Trust, National Trust for Scotland and Cadbury achieve some spectacular things over the last two years. We would like to say thank you to all those who have helped spread the word and keep this Easter tradition alive.
With your attendance at the Easter Egg Trails, the properties are able to maintain a safe and picturesque environment for families and children to indulge in a fun and magical Easter and spend time together outdoors.
Did you know that 1.2 million people attended a Cadbury supported Easter Egg Trail in 2009 alone.
Your participation has also helped achieve the following.....
- Support of the National Trust’s Ancient Tree Survey and the National Trust for Scotland’s Mountain Path Repair project – to date, Cadbury have donated £600,000.
- Cadbury’s donation has helped the National Trust undertake a survey of 40,000 ancient trees ensuring that they are maintained for future generations. Did you know that the National Trust has more ancient trees in their care than any other individual owner in the British Isles and Northern Europe!
- By helping to make our Easter Egg Trails a success, the Mountain Path Management Team can continue to conserve over 130 kilometres of paths over the National Trust for Scotland’s upland properties. The team work hard to ensure that people can enjoy the hills without causing intrusive path erosion scars, so that Scotland’s wild landscapes are protected for future generations. The majority of their work is carried out at Ben Lawers, Ben Lomond, Glencoe and Goatfell.
Over half a million children have taken part in the Easter Egg Trails to date so please continue to spread the word so you and other families can continue to enjoy the Easter Egg Trails for years to come!
